In a move to provide jobs as well as a regular source of income to more tribal people at Hasanur, the Erode District Collector Thiru. H. Krishnanunni IAS has initiated a project to convert the lantana camera, which they are currently making as furniture, into briquettes for fuel. He visited the Hasanur Lantana EG at Kondappa Nayakkan Palayam to see the trial run of the pulverizing and briquette-making machines which were supplied at an estimated cost of Rs.16 lakhs.
